The crystal needs to be replaced. The 25 jewels Swiss ETA 2782 automatic movement with quickset date function runs but the minute/seconds hands have dislodged and the hour hand moves on its own very slowly after the crown has been wound. The quickset date function works flawlessly by pulling the crown out to the first position and then turning it clockwise until the desired date has been reached. Despite the minute and seconds hands having dislodged the hour hand time can be set by pulling the crown out to the final position and then turning it either clockwise or counterclockwise. The non-screwdown replacement crown winds with a bit of tension.
This watch measures approximately 39 mm excluding the crown, approximately 42 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm.Given that the movement does not run as it should and the minute/seconds hands have dislodged a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.
And please study the 17 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
